Get an up-close view of artists at work! Artists exhibiting in Cherry Blossoms: A Textile Translation 2017 will demonstrate a variety of textile art forms and techniques.

Needle Felt Birds, Flowers & Trees
Joanne Waters will demonstrate needle felted birds & cherry blossoms with hands on needle felting for those who want to try. Joanne has lived in West Vancouver for over 20 years. She is best known for her work with kelp baskets, wire sculpture & playful jewelry in the Slow Clothes Harmony Arts Fashion Show.

Thread Painting
Heather Talbot demonstrates her thread drawing technique: embroidering into heat transfers to creat hyper-realistic 3D images of nature. Heather grew up in the countryside of Scotland. She fell in love with textiles after graduation & is completely self-taught. She lives in East Vancouver, keeping bees, making art & working as a therapist.
