'A Major Affair'
Members of the Tantalus Quartet are four of Vancouver's
finest string players: Rebecca Whitling; violin;
Karen Gerbrecht, violin; Isabelle Rolland,
viola; Heather Hay, cello. Rebecca Whitling plays
with the VSO, and was principal second violin of the CBC
Radio Orchestra. Gerbrecht is associate principal second
violin with the VSO and is also on the faculty of the Vancouver
Academy of Music. Rolland, former assistant principal viola
with the Victoria Symphony and performs with the VSO. Hay,
former member of the Purcell String Quartet is assistant
principal cello of the Vancouver Opera.

"Suite Melody"
Melody Mercredi, coloratura soprano, known locally
and throughout British Columbia and Canada, has had four
performances for Vancouver Opera's 'Opera speaks', two appearances
on CBC TV performing for the National Aboriginal Achievement
Awards, as well as a live performance for CBC radio. She
performs with talented pianist Erin Bergstresser.

"Flute Fantasia"
Massimo Mercelli has studied flute with the famous
flautists André Jaunet and Maxence Larrieu. At just
19, he became the first flute at Teatro La Fenice in Venice,
and subsequently won the Premio Francesco Cilea, the Concorso
Internazionale Giornate Musicali and the Concorso Internazionale
di Stresa. He has performed as a soloist in some of the
world most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie
Hall, Moscow Conservatory, Monaco's Herkulessaal and many
more throughout the world. Here from Italy, he joins usto
perform music of the movies including .Rota, Maricone, Williams.
