The Silk Purse Arts Centre re-opened its doors on Thursday, July 16, 2020. We are thrilled to be open & sharing wonderful art with you.
In order to provide a safe, comfortable & enjoyable experience for visitors, our staff & volunteers, the WVCAC has implemented a series of Health and Safety Protocols detailed below, following requirements & guidelines from the Province of British Columbia & WorkSafe BC. We are closely monitoring the situation & will adapt as necessary. We thank you for your patience & cooperation. We welcome your feedback & inquiries at westvanartscouncil@shaw.ca.
GALLERY HOURS OF OPERATION
12-4pm Wednesday-Sunday
HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS
- A regular cleaning schedule is in effect. High-contact surfaces such as service counter tops & door handles will be cleaned at regular intervals.
- All shared workstations & equipment cleaned regularly.
- Staff & volunteers are washing hands frequently, mandatory upon entry.
- Staff & volunteers will wear masks in the public gallery & when activities require close contact or make consistent distancing a challenge.
- All occupants are encouraged to maintain a 2 metre (6 feet) distance, promoted by signage, staff & volunteers.
- Plexiglas barriers have been installed at service desks.
- Hand sanitizer stations located at entrance & exit.
PLANNING YOUR VISIT
- If you are feeling unwell or showing any COVID-19 related symptoms, stay home. You can always visit later.
- Wearing a self-provided non-medical mask is recommended.
- Visitors to the Gallery are not required to provide proof of vaccination in accordance with the province-wide health order issued on September 13, 2021.
- Use the hand sanitizer available at the entrance & exist at the start & end of your visit.
- Maintaining a 2 metre (6 feet) distance between all visitors, staff & volunteers is recommended. Households may remain together but must respect the physical distance of others in the space.
- No public washroom. The nearest public washroom is located in John Lawson Park.
We will continue to offer inspiring online Arts & Culture programs alongside in-person exhibitions, concerts & workshops while complying with all Public Health Orders.
